Me and Youtube

Benefits of having a Youtube Channel
I am thinking of taking the plunge and adding a Youtube channel to my list on viewable content. This will be new for me and very scary as it will put my work out to a whole new clientele. By getting outside of my comfort zone and adding good quality content in a different medium will be exciting and challenging. The plan is to set up the channel post my material and then branch out to provide a service for others to join. What I see is a local channel that will provide for Artists, Businesses and locals that want to post material.
Give the Audience More Content
One really good reason to add video and a YouTube channel to my site is to give the growing audience more content. When people get a lot of good content that is solving their problems, or providing a service they stay longer and likely to come back and visit more often. I have seen local material on various channels but nothing seems to tie it all together. For me it would be great to have a single local channel with content that is relevant to the area.
Closer Personal Connection
One thing I have noticed with video is it encourages a level of familiarity that helps with building a community. You can create a much more personal connection with people and let them get to know you and see how you act/react to certain situations. There is something about watching a video where you can feel like you are with somebody working on a problem or, finding the right information. The people I trust and like learning from usually have some sort of video and I like learning and engaging in that manner.
Modernizing
Video is just the norm right now! One of the big reasons I am thinking of adding a channel is I felt like it was a good way to start standing out. While a lot of other local artists have already gotten into the video niche and there are a bunch of people making a living with their Youtube channels alone right now, I felt like there weren’t a lot of good sites with local photos and video. Facebook has some of this but I find it very unorganized or (maybe it’s just me).
